“I’ll try.” he murmured.
“You’ll get better faster if you rest,” she said softly.
“A part of me is afraid this is all a dream.” he said.
“You would probably be in less pain in a dream,” she said, smiling at him softly.

He smiled softly, lacing his fingers with hers. “Will you stay with me?”
She nodded, “Of course I will,” she said softly.
“Good, I’m glad.” he said.
She brushed his lips with the gentlest kiss, wary of his jaw. ”You should rest.”

“I thought I was never going to see you again.” he whispered.
“Shh,” she said softly, “none of that now.”
“It’s true though.” he said.
“You’re safe, that’s what matters.” She leaned down and kissed his cheek gently as she could.
He smiled softly, lacing his fingers with hers. “Will you stay with me?”
